Uchiage — Burst the firework right on its outline

Each shot shows the shape a firework will make as a dotted outline in the night sky. Drag sideways to move the launch tube, tap to send the shell up, and tap again while it is rising to burst it. You then see how far the centre of your burst landed from the centre of the outline, as a share of the sky’s height (for example, 4% off) along with the direction (low, right and so on). There are three shapes — a round burst, a double ring and a willow — and later shots add a crosswind that carries the shell sideways. One shell per shot, ten shots per round. The result shows only this round’s total gap, with no averages or rankings.

How to play

  1. The dotted outline is the shape the firework will make. Find its centre
  2. Drag sideways to move the launch tube
  3. Tap to launch the shell and tap again while it rises to burst it. If you wait too long, it bursts at the top
  4. You get the gap between the two centres (%) and its direction. Later shots have a crosswind, so move the tube upwind
  5. Your lowest 10-shot total is saved on your device. No averages or rankings
